SOLVED: Fresh v11 install, infinite Server is Being Setup

Postby GDLR » Sat Jul 13, 2019 3:20 pm

Hi there, I'm trying to install amahi in my intel core i5/8 GB ram/256 MB SSD pc.

I've tried several times but I always get stuck in the Server is Being Setup screen.

I'm using a USB drive for the installation and the included installation settings. the version is the only available through the web page>
Amahi 11 Express CD (based on Fedora 27 Server) for 64 bit (577MB) (Direct Download - Amahi-11-x86_64.iso)

In another post someone wrote: "I don't recommend the Express CD. Minimal CD works best ", but I can't find that version in the install page..

Thanks in advanced

USB could be the issue. Amahi works best on CD or DVD.

The link for minimal install CD is on the instructions page. You must have missed it.

thanks for your prompt response, I will try to find an old CD recorder, new computers does not have it. Regarding the link, the download topic from Amahi 11 Install has only the link to express iso:
Download
Amahi 11 Express CD (based on Fedora 27 Server) for 64 bit (577MB)
Torrent - Amahi-11-x86_64.torrent
Direct Download - Amahi-11-x86_64.iso
Checksum:
MD5 e32fb303d6488e98078042dc2d162d08
SHA1 cf972ec23f0c6b873884b80b4010b9b2b03be14a
Burn the ISO to CD/DVD (or USB), insert the media into your server, and reboot the system.
The instructions below have screen shots and commentary. If you are not an advanced Linux user and know what you are doing, recommend you DO NOT deviate from the guidance. Click [<Screenshot>] to show/hide the image.

Incorrect.

There’s a link on the page that says minimal install CD.

Amahi 11 Install

It states “Should the Amahi 11 Express CD not work for you, there are two alternate install methods: Minimal CD (a.k.a. Netinstall) or Full DVD (provides additional hardware support).“

There is a hyperlink for Minimal CD or Full DVD in that sentence.

Hi again, at last I've located the problem. When I installed Fedora 27 using the fedora minimal (as you sugested) , I was able to install fedora but I was unable to connect to http://f27.amahi.org, apparently, some how, fedora is not able to configure the IP once installed. So I tried configuring the network manually in the fedora installer, and that worked.

The same problem is affecting the amahi express install, which causes the infinite server is being setup problem.

I already tested it, now I'm successfully running the server after an amahi express install (using manually net config)

Thank you for your excellent support!!
