password change - can't log in to hda dashboard

Changed the only user password from the dashboard..
I can ssh to my server, access shares and what not. I can log in to amahi and view my hda, but I can't log in to http://hda/ anymore?? Tried with new and old pass.. nothing woorks. Tried resetting pass to new, all went through. still cant log in to hda. wtf? any help?

Ensure you clear your browser cache and try again.

If you need to reset the password, recommend you see reset user password.

Tried clearing cache and all else - nothing.
Tried using "/var/hda/platform/html/script/reset-user-password -u <username>" through ssh. just gives me the error:

"ERROR: Cannot find user with username '-u' in your server. Exiting."

All I did was to change my only user's password from the dashboard, and now all this shit.. I can't stand this shitty stuff anymore

Did a clean reinstall, nothing else worked. I'm giving Amahi 11 a last chance. Nothing but problems so far.. But I've had a fun 5 years with Amahi.

You can mark as closed or share a work-around if you have one if another user stumbles upon this thread. I couldn't find any help to my problem

This may be an issue with the Express CD, which I presume you used.

The Minimal Install CD works best in my opinion.

When attempting to reset the user password:

Code: Select all

/var/hda/platform/html/script/reset-user-password -u
did you leave a space after the -u? Sometimes scripts want a space and other times they do not.

Recommend you navigate to the directory, then run the script:

cd /var/hda/platform/html/script reset-user-password -u username
