Post upgrade (amahi 11) assistance

Postby modem7 » Mon Mar 18, 2019 4:42 pm

Hey guys,

I've updated to amahi 11 using the following guide: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_11_Upgrade

When I try to load the dashboard, I get
Unable to connect

Waterfox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.0.254.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Waterfox is permitted to access the Web.
I disabled firewalld, but rolekit wasn't loaded (Failed to stop rolekit.service: Unit rolekit.service not loaded.)

I've tried both my internal IP and hda, both same results.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Update:

Looks like httpd didn't start at startup. I've enabled it now, but getting "The Dashboard has encountered an exception!"

I've looked here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7180 but wasn't 100% sure on what was written here.

Should I delete everything within this folder?

Did you follow the prerequisites for upgrade?

All Amahi Plugins must be uninstalled.

Provide a list of what apps you had installed when you performed the upgrade.

I didn't see any apps that would cause an issue specifically, but having any apps installed when doing an upgrade is not recommended. There could be something with an app that causes the upgrade to not complete successfully.

Did you see any errors during the upgrade process?

Try the following:

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl restart hda-ctl
We can try to diagnose the problem, but sorry to say you may have to do a new install.

I did not have any luck myself with the upgrade.

[alex@localhost ~]$ sudo systemctl restart hda-ctl
Job for hda-ctl.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status hda-ctl.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

Hard to tell what is happening, though it seems like a simple thing. There are two things, probably unrelated. hda-ctl and httpd.

We would like to see the last couple/three hundred lines at the end of /var/log/messages ... *immediately after each of the two errors happens*.

i.e. produce each error followed tail -300 /var/log/messages | apaste

I vaguely recall that the hda-ctl error maybe because there may be a missing dependency with rsyslog. You can try dnf installing it and restarting hda-ctl.

Here's my apaste as requested, each command was done a couple of times to make sure nothing gets in the way like mono (I'm starting to see why they named it that -.-).

sudo systemctl restart hda-ctl
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/M ... 3~2vPaFKsg

sudo systemctl restart httpd
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/J ... SCsjrMkH1A

tail -1000 /var/log/messages | grep -Ev '(mono)' | apaste
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/w ... C7K7h5jORw
https://pastebin.com/B1pSV4UW (one done a bit more recently - I restarted the services from line ~600 )
https://pastebin.com/dannQyFM (log rotated, services restarted)
sudo dnf install rsyslog
