I have installed for the first time

My username and password work fine on the portal but not on the console

I think I used the express method for install but honestly can't remember exactly

My password has a ! in it so not sure if that is an issue?

I have tried username upper and lower case and also the password without the !

What are my options ?

If you used the Express CD, the user is automatically created.

It’s admin /administrator.

Is the portal you refer to http://hda or are you referring to the website?

The amahi.org website is only used to purchase apps or create the HDA profile. The credentials have nothing to do with the HDA or access via terminal.

Was this not clear in the instructions?

Yes that worked could login to the server , I did not see the default username and pwd in the documentation but to be fair I did not thoroughly check just did a search on the site I am not really an RTFM Person

Although what do I next is there GUI on the server or do I connect via a browser from another PC just a point in the right directon will help

Hi there,

I've made it to the login screen, and I'm going for the admin/administrator creds. But after I put in U:admin, I'm unable to type anything in the Password part. It won't take any of the inputs. And each time it tells me incorrect login. Would this be a hardware issue, or is this an issue with my config?

The first time you login into the dashboard, it requires the password twice.

Ensure you are doing that step.

So for the console on my server.

I put:

localhost login: admin
Password: admin

Like that?

Though you were trying to log into the web interface.

For the console, it's admin for user and password is administrator if you are using the Express CD.
