Can't find server

Postby jorw » Thu Nov 08, 2018 2:20 pm

Dear,

I've installed Fedora 27 and installed Amahi then with the following commands:
sudo su -
rpm -Uvh http://f27.amahi.org/noarch/hda-release ... noarch.rpm
dnf -y install hda-ctl
hda-install YOUR-INSTALL-CODE

But when I'm searching on my computer to my server, I can't find it. Do I have to do something more?

Because the server stands in our home-network with a router (who gives the DHCP), and its from my parents, I don't want to change anything on the router or something else. Is this possible?

Ps: when installing Fedora, I made a root password. Does it matter?

Thanks in advance,
Jordy

Follow the install guidance to access your server.

The transitioning to your Amahi Server guidance tells you how to access it.

Thanks for your reply. There is one thing that isn't totally clear for me. If Amahi and my router is giving DHCP to my devices, can it go wrong?
I don't really want to shut my hole network down or something like that... :?
Thanks in advance!

You can only run one DHCP server on your network.

So if you want to continue to use the router, you will need to Disable the HDA DHCP.

Also, there are some capabilities that you will lose. See the Amahi FAQ.
