The only deviation was that I didn't have an option for a minimal installation.

Did you follow instructions at http://docs.amahi.org? Should be using the CD, not DVD image.

Also does your amahi.org HDA profile network settings match your network? All things must be aligned or it won't work.

Ethernet 2 is the connection to the HDA.

There was only one network card enabled on your HDA when you installed, correct?
