Postby stevehicks » Fri Jul 28, 2017 10:49 am

Hi, newbe here.
I have installed fedora 25 and got to the reboot login page, no matter what login i use it just say unknown and a string of numbers (unknown-00-25-22-e9-8d-ea-5)? Also i dont get the 'enter your Amahi install code' box come up at the end of the installation!
Help needed please i have followed the instruction to the letter and have tried this with new intalls 4 times already, just dont know what im doing wrong.
Steve.
I have managed to get into Fedora Dashboard! How do i now setup Amahi?

Are you following the instructions at http://docs.amahi.org?

We have had very few who had issues, so interested to find out why you are having problems.

If you have followed the instructions precisely, there should be no problem. Did you by chance skip a step?

hi, yes i am following the install instructions and no i havent missed or skipped anything, I get to installing Amahi 10 section and thats where i falter and lose it. I can log into Fedora cockpit but then im lost!
Have tried uploading some pics but it keeps telling me file is too large even at 338kb.
i have managed to install Amahi some where but cannot access it as http://hda has no effect and the only ip address i have is for fedora 25!
This is the error i get when i try to login on http://hda/
Passenger error #2
An error occurred while trying to access '/var/hda/platform/html/config.ru': Cannot stat '/var/hda/platform/html/config.ru': Permission denied (errno=13)
Apache doesn't have read permissions to that file. Please fix the relevant file permissions.
The permission problems may also be caused by SELinux restrictions. Please read https://www.phusionpassenger.com/librar ... nux-errors to learn how to fix SELinux permission issues.

There is no mention of using Fedora Cockpit.

How did you get to it when it's not installed by default? You are deviating from guidance.

To install Amahi you have to do the those steps via command line as the instructions state.

Have you done that?

I have followed the intructions and am stuck!
I have watched numerous videos about installing it and it looks so easy.
Obviously something is not right, have gone through the install process 6 times now and the end result is the same, no amahi install box comes up and when i get to the root screen , i can log into fedora from a web page and can install amahi from the shell there! But still do not know how to access it because http://hda goes to the error page stated above!

The IP address for #Amahi is the same as Fedora. Amahi is just Fedora packages along with some custom code to make it a server.
I have watched numerous videos about installing it and it looks so easy.
Most videos are outdated. The only accurate guidance is the install instructions.

What media did you use to install Amahi, CD? Something is off with your install as we have very few users report issues with the install.

You should be able to log into the terminal after the Fedora 25 install/reboot, then install #Amahi from there. Once rebooted as it recommends, you would then need to follow the transitioning to your Amahi server?

Can you provide the URL for:

Code: Select all

apaste --sysinfo
That might help with diagnosing your problem.

The USB install is likely the issue.

Some have success, but others run into issues. That's why we recommend using the minimal install CD. Too many uncontrollable variables and USB software programs available that the end result is often failure.

Hopefully the CD install will go well for you. Please let us know.
