SOLVED: Error 1045

Postby way2fast59 » Fri Jun 16, 2017 7:52 pm

Followed the instructions word for word and keep running into the same problem. Install goes great until I have to enter in 'hda-install your-key'.

I get a bunch of status messages about stuff installing and then:

Initializing Ruby on Rails and DB
Activating your HDA's settings
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'amahihda''@'localhost' (using password: YES)

No idea what's causing it. I have tried a clean install about 4 times now with the same result.

Also, fwiw, the link for the Fedora net install pulls down version 25 vs. the install guide referencing version 23

Thanks!

Please provide the URL you are using as we no longer support Fedora 23. The latest #Amahi version uses Fedora 25.

We can then go from there.

This appears to be a new problem. Yesterday it loaded fine but I had problems when I went to add my other disks using disk wizard. Since I had nothing other than Fedora 25 and Amahi 10 on my HDD I made the command decision to do a complete reinstall to make sure that if it was a problem in the install I would fix it with a new install.

I'm using the same burned ISO file so don't believe that is the problem. The install is a netinstall ISO and the install goes to the nearest mirror.

Everything looks normal up until the program types "Activating your HDA's settings". The next line is "ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'amahihda '@' localhost' (using password:YES"

Did you follow the install precisely, not deviating?

I will do a test install to see if I can replicate.

There was a new version of MariaDB released that might be causing issues.

Will report back shortly.

Yes. I have them printed out for quick reference and tried it twice before I posted this morning.

Ok, I was able to reproduce the error.

The development staff has been notified and hopefully we can get this corrected ASAP. See bug 2259 to monitor progress.

Until then, I am going to try the Fedora Server DVD install and see if the same issue occurs.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.

This also affects Fedora Server DVD, so until we can resolve Amahi 10 cannot be installed.

Sorry for any inconvenience and hopefully we will have this fixed shortly.

Monitor the bug posted in my previous post for a work around.

We hope to get a permanent fix soon.
