Fedora 25 Bug Changing from LVM to Standard Partition

Postby myvault » Tue May 09, 2017 2:04 am

If the disk that you are going to use had been used before by a Linux operating system then you have to format it before you start the Fedora installation. Otherwise, Fedora is going to crash. :D :D

Format guide: (Format deletes all data on the specific drive)
On Linux, use GParted
On windows follow this steps:
1) Open explorer and go to "My PC" or "This Pc", It depends on your windows version.

2) Right-click the drive that you want to format and press "Format" from the list that appears.

3) On the new window that turns up press "Start" without changing anything
4)Press "Ok" to confirm your action
5) You are ready to follow this guide https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_10_Install to install Fedora and Amahi

I hope it was helpfull

Can you expand on your install? Was it CD? What's the specs for your server?

I have not had any issues as you described. Several test installs went without issue.

Any additional info would be appreciated.

I used a USB drive and my system is Skylake based.
Thanks for the info. That is likely the issue with the install.

What is Skylake based? There are so many anomalies with using USB for Fedora installs. Some have no issues, while others do depending on the USB tool being used.

Appreciate the clarification.

Skylake based means that it uses a Intel 6th generation cpu.

Full server specs:
i7-6700
16 gigabytes RAM at 2666 MHz
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
1 disks with 4 Tb each and one with 256 gb

I used Rufus for creating the installation media.

Thanks for the info.

It may be the USB tool that caused the crash. We rarely hear of issues with CD media.
