Install broken after hda-install -f -- //hda not working

Don't know for sure if it is the hda-install -f that I did to get proper registration or what, but...

As I mentioned elsewhere I could not install phpMyAdmin.

I went to setup and quickly clicked on Shares and got a message that RAIL would not start.

I shutdown FIrefox, restarted it, and just went to setup. The graphic for diskspace used is not displaying. All I have is a spinning bunch of dots for each disk I have on the system. This screen worked at first when I did the hda-install with my old registration code....

I guess next is rebooting and seeing what happens.

Steps to CORRECTLY reinstall.

NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE ALL APPS, SHARES, FILES IN SHARES, EVERYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH AMAHI AND REINSTALL, BACKUP DATA FIRST BEFORE DOING THIS.

Turn DHCP ON on router.

Test to see if has internet connection in browser.

As root:

Code: Select all

rm /etc/sysconfig/amahi-hda
THEN

Code: Select all

hda-install CODE

Your warning about -f being broken came after I had already done it.

Well it did not delete the files I had restored to the 'default' shares of Music, Movies, and Pictures.

I had not created any users or shares yet, so don't know if it would have deleted them.
As root:

Code: Select all

rm /etc/sysconfig/amahi-hda
This is an empty file, but seemed to be what the doctor ordered.
THEN

Code: Select all

hda-install CODE
And it worked and I am back with things working!

This did NOT replace /usr/bin/hdactl, and thus the changes I made to 'fix' the DHCP range. Nor did it delete my changes to the database, leaving the netmask to a /28 network.

Also my manually setup phpMyAdmin webapp is still there.

But back in business. Thanks!
