CLOSED: Install Wiki says don't create root password on install - Can I do it later?

Initial_User_Creation says:
"Installation has begun and we need to create the initial user. DO NOT set the root password. "
I did as I was told, but have come to need to log in as root a couple of times since my Amahi setup (namely Linux rescue). Can I create a password for root now? Will it break anything? If so... what's the recommended way to do that?
Cheers!

It's possible I am sure, but highly technical and not a simple process.
If you need root access and cannot log in otherwise, I am sorry to say a reinstall may be needed.

I ripped out the boot drive and connected it to Fedora trial running on Virtual box on my Macbook Pro, fixed the file I broke and put it back in my HDA. VoilĂ .

Yeah for me I guess, although it seems a design limitation to have to fresh install over being able to use Linux rescue.

Not a design limitation.
Most don't have to use rescue mode.
That's a mistake that you learn from using Linux.
