SOLVED: Install status in control panel

Postby keatenp » Sun May 08, 2016 8:17 pm

I followed the install instructions and everything installed without any errors on the PC I am using for the server, however, on the Amahi control panel webpage it still says waiting for install. This is my first try at making a home server so I apologize if my problem is a simple fix. Thank you for any help on why this might be happening.

Just some information that might be valuable: When I first started, the computer that I installed everything on was connected through a wireless adapter. After I installed the Linux server, I plugged it in through a wired router. I do not know if this could cause some issue with IP addresses and making everything match up with how Amahi's website first saw the PC and how it is after installation. Thank you.

Did you have it hard wired for installing Amahi? If not, you will need to start over.

Sometimes the web site does not update correctly indicating install is complete.

After I got Fedora installed, I hardwired it for the install of Amahi. Bt start over, what do you mean? Reinstall Fedora again? Or try to delete that Amahi server on my Amahi account and try to make a new one to install on the Fedora machine?

After I got Fedora installed, I hardwired it for the install of Amahi.
In that case, you should be ok then. I presume it's working fine, just not updating in the amahi.org control panel.

If that is the case, you might need to contact support. They can possibly fix it.

FYI, it's best to not reinstall Amahi unless you start with a fresh install of Fedora. At this point I don't see the need to start over.

I went ahead and deleted the old server information from my Amahi account and started over by making a new one and reinstalling Fedora. Everything went in without issue and the new Amahi HDA still says waiting install. I will try contacting support. Thank you.

I contacted support and they provided me with this information.

That means your server has no network. Or the network settings did not quite take effect. There may be two solutions:

1) You can try from the console or ssh: hda-ctl-hup (the reboot, to have a clean slate)

2) If the ssh/console is too hard for you, you can simply reboot and that may re-set the network settings.

I simply used the hda-ctl-hup command on my server and it fixed the issue. Thank you for your help.

No problem. Happy to hear it's sorted out.

The solution is captured in bug 2046.

Marking this as solved.
