Hello, first thanks to all for your effort developing this NAS OS for free:

I'm new to Amahi and Fedora in general...

Trying to install Fedora Server (both with the minimum and Full ISOS), I'm getting the following "error" when partitioning the HDD, Your BIOS-based system needs a special partition to boot from a GPT disk label. To continue, please create a 1MiB 'biosboot' type partition:

I'm following this guide to do the partition https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Hard_D ... ion_Scheme:

I'm using a Samsung External USB DVD unit, with the ISO burned into the disc.

My Hardware:
3TB Toshiba HDD (used to have win8.1 installed)
8GB (4x2)PNY RAM
i5 2500K
Mobo:
ZOTAC Socket 1155/Intel H67 B3/SATA3 and USB 3.0/Wi-Fi/A&V&GbE/Mini ITX Motherboard H67ITX-C-E

So my questions are..
Is this an error?
Should I create this new 1MbiT partition?

Thanks

I would recommend you ensure the USB drive has no partitions on it, then try again. Windows 10 leaves behind things on the drive that Linux may not like. Removing all partitions might help.

May due to it being an external hard drive. I presume your CD/DVD image is on a different drive, correct?

Hi thanks for replying!

Well, actually the USB port is only used for the DVD Unit (To read the DVD's contents)

The Hard Disc Drive is a SATA connected HDD 3TB .

A friend told me to get the HDD into windows, format it like this (one 2.0TB partition and another 1TB, NTFS both)s and initialize the disc in MBR mode.... and after that, to try again.

I will try tonight

Did not worked... I even used an Ubuntu OS, with erase entire disk option.... nothing

Then I used gparted, and I was able to confirm the label was switch to msdos...

Anyway, I ended up creating the biosboot partition, 1 MB

You can close this thread, my Amahi server is UP.
