I forgot to create the user when setting up Fedora but setup amahi on top.
Now when I run command first-admin I get the error
"cannot find any admin user".
I logged in as root and created a new user and gave it all privileges. How can I make amahi pick up this user as admin?

Re: Forgot to create new user when installing
Are the instructions not clear? Reason I ask is we have had this issue with users in the past. Not often, but want to ensure we make it clear in the guidance.
Now, ensure you are not logged in as the user you want to make an admin user. Then go to the Users tab and expand that user by clicking on it. You will see a check box for Admin. Select it and now that user has admin privileges for Amahi.
That will not give the user sudo privileges for the Linux shell. You will need to do that manually. There are many tutorials on the internet that should help.
Although since you have a root user, probably not a big deal if that user has elevated privileges or not.

Re: Forgot to create new user when installing
Thanks for the response. Instructions are clear but I guess o many links to click that I missed reading detailed steps about installing Fedora. I assumed it will tell me what all to do in fedora installation.
I'm not sure I follow your instructions though. When you say make sure logged in as user, logged in where? As I boot the machine it goes on fedora console. I logged in as the new user I had made in fedora. I had given it sudo permissions when I created it form console. How do I get into amahi to set it up as admin?

Did you log into the dashboard for Amahi at http://hda?
The web UI is where you do all the work I described.

Re: Forgot to create new user when installing
Ah... I had tried to login with root from there but was blocked. I just tried logging in again with the new user id and I'm in. It already shows this user as admin. Maybe because I created with superuser privileges?
Thanks for all the help.

Re: Forgot to create new user when installing
Great to hear.
Since you weren't able to login to the dashboard initially, the new user is seen as the first admin user. That's how it would have worked had you created the user initially on install with Fedora.
Marking this one as solved.
