HDA Reboots To Terminal Mode

Postby wdpolen » Sun Nov 22, 2015 1:34 pm

I just installed Fedora 21 from an image file burned to CD. Installation went smoothly (except there was no option for minimal install), and the Amahi 8 install also went smoothly. When I rebooted HDA as instructed at the end of the install process, I expected to see the Amahi dashboard but the HDA came up in terminal mode asking for local host login. What should I do next?

Which install guidance did you follow? There is a minimal install option if you followed the correct guidance.

The Server is headless. You access the dashboard via http://hda from a browser on a client computer.

The install instructions at http://docs.amahi.org provide videos and guidance indicating such.

Okay, I went back to the beginning and installed from scratch, following the instructions in the link you provided (same process I followed the first time around). Fedora 21 install was successful. Amahi 8 install was successful. On my desktop PC, "http://hda" took me to the Amahi Server LogIn page where I keep getting error message "Error: Incorrect username or password." I'm using the username in my Amahi account, and the password comes right from my LastPass password manager. Now what?

That is not the correct user name and password. The instructions say to use the user name and password you created when installing Fedora 21.

It's important you carefully read and understand the instructions or you will have problems.
