SOLVED: CUPS printer

Postby bt107 » Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:38 am

Just did a clean install of Amahi 8 on my HP microserver from Amahi 7. Followed the guides in the wiki and all went fairly well. I'm really struggling though to get my Brother USB laser printer to work with the new install. I had it working as a network printer using cups on Amahi 7/Fedora 19 but so far no luck on 8/21. I've installed cups and the Brother linux drivers but the printer is still not recognized. I've looked on the web and the Amahi wiki but haven't found a solution yet. Is there a package for Fedora 21 (minimal install) that I'm missing?
Has anyone else got this to work?

Thanks!

BTW: To the Amahi team, great job on Amahi 8!

You followed the adding an HDA networked printer guidance?

RESOLVED: CUPS printer

Postby bt107 » Wed Oct 21, 2015 2:50 pm

Resolved. I was missing a prerequisite package. The glibc.i686 package is required for 32 bit Brother drivers on 64 bit systems. Once I installed that and reinstalled the drivers, CUPS found the printer. I guess it was just too late last night to be messing with it.

Thanks.
