I'm trying to install on a 32 bit machine. I installed the minimal version of fedora 19, and worked through the instructions on https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_7_full_DVD. That involve some tricks, like adding /archive/ to the fedora update paths in the repositories, adding in mirror sites, etc.
My machine has network access. I've pinged api.amahi.org and it resolves. I've updated fedora 19 (yum update).
My problem is that when I run the hda-install YOUR-INSTALL-CODE, it locates the verbiose file, and then shoots out an error that the installer cannot connect to the network. My gateway is the same as for my install code. The machine ip address is set through the router. I tried changing it to the same as the install code, but that didn't change the error.
Any help would be appreciated.
installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
The changing of repos you posted about is not recommended. There are plenty of Fedora 19 sites active as noted yesterday with a new install.
The problem could be related to the hack you performed. Does the machine meet the minimum requirements? You might want to check out the network troubleshooter.
Worst case scenario, you may need to start over completely and not change the repos. There may be packages missing from that location. As I mentioned, there are more than enough Fedora 19 repos available as currently used by the DVD.

Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
during install, both the
yum -y install mariadb-libs mariadb-server
and
yum -y install hda-ctl hda-platform
failed to locate the files needed. I followed the directions at
http://digitizor.com/2009/06/17/how-to- ... fedora-11/
as suggested in the amahi wiki, but still couldn't find the fedora files needed. I inserted the /archive/ into the repo, and both yum installs worked. I also followed with a
yum update
that worked.
I can try a clean install again and see if anything goes differently.
I'm running on a 1.3GHz single core, 3Gb RAM, 1.5Tb HDD using an ethernet line directly to the modem.
I have not disabled the DHCP on my router - would that hang the actual install?

Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
the interactive amahi network troubleshooter link doesn't take me anywhere. I think my install is hanging before I can get there.
Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
There may be an issue with networking.
If those packages are not in the repo, then you have something else going on.
This will take more diagnosing to determine the issue.

Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
I can ping out with no issues, so I'm not having trouble with networking in the most basic sense. I can update fedora.
anything else I can post up here to help diagnosing? Should I just run a new install and see what's going on?
any suggestions?

Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
Recommend you try a new install. I presume you are using the Fedora 19 Full DVD, correct. Ensure you follow the wiki guidance and only do minimal install.
Ensure you leave the router on until you have installed Amahi.

Yes. Fedora 19 DVD install. Last time was minimal, and I made no changes to the network. I'll shoot again and post results.
Re: installer can't access network Fedora 19 32bit install
ok, clean install. I followed the Amahi 7 full DVD wiki instructions. no errors in the Fedora minimal install.
rpm -Uvh http://f19.amahi.org/noarch/hda-release ... noarch.rpm runs and installs with no problems.
yum - y install mariadb-libs mariabd-server fails. gives error "Error: Cannot retrieve metalink for repository:fedora/19/i386. Please verify its path and try again"
I've tried the changes at http://digitizor.com/2009/06/17/how-to- ... fedora-11/ to no avail. I reverted to the original state of the repos and nothing.
network is there - ping google.com resolves in 40ms.
any ideas?

commenting out the mirrorlist line in the repos give
"error: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from fedora: [Errno 256] No More mirrors to try."
commenting out the baseurl line give the error, "Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: fedora/19/i386. Please verify its path and try again"
