Installing hda-platform gives libruby.so.2.1()(64bit) missing error

Hi

Trying out Amahi for the first time! So am trying it out on Parallels.

Downloaded the express CD and installed but none of the networking commands were available - ifconfig,

nslookup etc. So I am trying out this procedure: [url]https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_7_full_DVD[/url] [list][*]Created a VM with Fedora 22 minimal install (boots into command line with networking enabled) [*]Added amahi.repo file under /etc/yum.repos.d/ with the source pointing to [url]http://f21.amahi.org[/url] [*]Ran command as provided in the above Amahi doc: rpm -Uvh http://f19.amahi.org/noarch/hda-release-6.9.0-1.noarch.rpm [attachment=1]01hda-release.jpg[/attachment] [*]The next command (yum -y install mariadb-libs mariadb-server) installs without any errors [*]The next command is where I am blocked: yum -y install hda-ctl hda-platform. Complains that libruby.so.2.1()(64bit) is missing! I am getting the following error: [attachment=0]02hda-platform.jpg[/attachment][/list] I have tried everything from using dnf instead of yum, installing rvm and ruby versions 2.0 up to latest, and marking one version at at a time as the default I am lost, and have lost more than a couple of days (and nights). Please shed some light on how to resolve the issue, install Amahi and use it happily ever after. Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks

Fedora 22 is not supported with Amahi.

You must use Fedora 19 or we also have Amahi 8 in testing with Fedora 21.

Follow http://docs.amahi.org for Express CD or the Amahi wiki for Fedora 21. There is a specific Amahi 8 page with instructions. You cannot use Fedora 19 instructions for Fedora 21.

BTW, to get the ifconfig, you can install the package as follows:

Originally I downloaded Express CD from here (http://dl.amahi.org/isos/Amahi-7.1-x86_64-DVD.iso) on this page (https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Express_CD). I am able to install with the ISO. But when it boots into the terminal, the networking commands are not available. I cannot do ifconfig etc. I cannot even update with yum (yum install net-tools or bind-tools).

That's why I had to go the other manual way.

But yes, as you suggested, I should install Fedora 19 minimal (not Fedora 21 or 22), and try the same procedure I was trying earlier. Since the steps were failry similar for Amahi 7 and Amahi 8 (except the Fedora version). Clearly shows my ignorance on the details. Will try and let you know.

Again, I should use Fedora 19 for Amahi 7, and Fedora 21 for Amahi 8. Right?

Oddly, the online account shows that the install was successful! Wonder how?

If the yum command is not working with Express CD then networking is not functional.

Yes your last statement about Amahi and Fedora versions is correct. It's important you follow the instructions and not improvise. They have been tested and work as documented.

Also ensure you only have one network card enabled or you will have problems.

Your original install was successful that's why it indicated such. The site doesn't know networking quit functioning after install.

I have only one network card enabled. This is my VM configuration:
