CLOSED: Invalid Install Code most probably because of NIC

Postby khwaja » Wed May 13, 2015 7:52 pm

Hi there,

I have searched the forums and couldn't find an answer that is why I am making a post.

So this is my first NAS and have attempted four times and every time it failed.
During the installation process my ONLY NIC card shows as Ethernet (enp0s25) not eth0.

Please bare in mind that I am a Windows user and have little to no knowledge of Linux.

Also, I have a pfSenese box that is handling DHCP and I would like to keep it like that.
Then I have two old wireless routers that act as switch and distribute wireless connection through the house.

My pfSense box ip is 192.168.0.1 and have a domain name "khana".

Your help is highly appreciated in getting this thing installed.

Is The box you're installing Amahi on connected to the Internet while installing? I had a bad motherboard network port which councidentally happened somewhere just before I started installing. So I had no internet connectivity and the installation code wouldn't work. I bought a PCI NIC for $15, tried it again and it worked!

During install, in the Fedora screen it's ok if it does not read as eth0. Once you finish the Amahi install, it should recognize it as etho. I have performed many installs where this was the case and it worked find once install completed.

If not, then you may want to try the Amahi 7 Full DVD method.

Guys thank you very much for the reply

@s9601694 no my motherboard is fine. I have tried installing OMV last night and it installed just fine.
@bigfoot, lets assume it doesn't read the NIC as eth0 then why it doesn't accept the install code?
Yes I have thought of going for full DVD but I couldn't find Fedora 19 and I was not sure if the newer version would work.

So installation finished with the full DVD..
Install code was accepted.
Now comes the problem.. How do I connect to my NAS without causing problem to my pfSense?

Should I connect my computer to Amahi directly?
Or how do I disable DHCP on Amahi?

thanks
