moving old hard drive to new machine

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere but I didn't find anything in my search.

I currently have amahi up and running nicely on a very old machine (11 years). It's fine but it gets a bit bogged down with some media. My current desktop is about 5 years old and ready for an upgrade. If I just take the hard drive out of the current amahi machine and put it in my other desktop should it work?

It should for the most part, but you might want to consult the post-install hardware changes wiki guidance.
