each Build - hardware specific?

Postby Tcichowicz » Thu Jan 15, 2015 2:37 pm

I have a question regarding hardware.

I built system on a Intel i3 core NUC. works great so far. However I may want to add a few HDDs later on. How transportable is this build on that platform it was installed on?

Could I install the hdd or clone the disk to another and drop it into another PC and run it from there? picking up where I left off?

because this is a headless system, and assuming the processor family is the same - there aren't allot of device drivers specific to the system.... would it adapt after the initial boot? or will different chipsets cause problems?

Something like the post-install hardware changes guidance might be helpful.
