SOLVED: Fresh install of Plex on new install of F19 issues.

Postby ambient711 » Thu Nov 13, 2014 7:27 pm

Hi, I just installed Plex Media Server on my Amahi Fedora box thats running fedora 19. Its a fresh copy of the OS so no pref files or anything from any previous Plex installations exist.

However, when I open plex it acts like it has my preferences (requires me to login), custom things I set. But I cannot add any media folders. And in the settings I am missing the admin settings.

I did move over my media drives from my old machine but no installation of plex was on those drives.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

Did you install the Amahi Plex Media Server? The settings should be fresh if this is a new install as there would be no backup files available.

It may be that it's a newer version than you used in the past or you somehow have a copy of the settings on the drives you moved to the new install that the app found. Did you install the app before the drives were added?

No other explanation I can offer that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply bigfoot65 ... this is embarrassing but im glad I got it. Turns out that the new defaults for Plex are similar to my older version configuration. Had to specify port 32400 and go through the /web/ initial url and everything worked out.
