I have installed fedora 19 full DVD.it took a while due to a misconfiguration in BIOS. I have booted into gnome 3 and installed the amahi 7 via terminal, not rebooting at the moment I have not installed any apps. I will leave on to test the uptime. I think like you said the issue is to do with the lack of drivers on the amahi express CD install, maybe it would be an idea to create an express DVD full install?

Let us know how it goes.

That defeats the purpose of an Express CD. It's meant to be a smaller ISO, so adding all the stuff back would not make sense. Less than 1GB vs 3GB+ is much nicer.

The majority of the 64-bit users don't have any issues. Unfortunately you appear to be in the minority with this problem.

It has started to shutdown again ..
the only apps installed are " monitorix, phpsysinfo, VNC"
Would any of these apps have the ability to crash and cause a shutdown, reason i ask is that monitorix uses MYSQL and Fedora 19 changed it to MariaDB.

Are there any log files i could check ? these are clean shutdowns.

No the apps should not be causing issues. MySQL and MariaDB are interchangeable so no worries there. You might checking log files in /var/log directory for errors.

Not sure of the root cause, but could be anything. I am betting it's hardware related.

Thank you for keeping with this thread, i have removed all apps from amahi and the system has been on for 20 hours without shutdown. My guess is that one of these 3 apps are making my system shutdown

VNC - unlikely ? gnome classic is also installed.
PHPSYSINFO - not sure about this one.
MONITORIX - Inclusion of LM-SENSORS install.

I will install these apps one by one until a shutdown happens *i should be a beta tester :) , i may post some log files at a later date.. meanwhile any ideas please let me know.
Cheers.

My guess would be the lm_sensors caused your issue.

Ok, after the installation of RPMFusion non free my machine decided to turn off.

Any ideas what exactly is installed with RPMfusion ?

My thoughts were that lm_sensors were causing the issue... because once it was uninstalled everything was working normal.
Since RPMFusion installation it now turns off.

The only thing RPM Fusion apps install is a repo. Until you install packages from those repos, nothing else is added.

Seems like there is more to your shutdown issues. Have you checked for bad RAM? I have heard of cases where that can cause problems. Might be me, but sure seems like a hardware problem.

I performed the memtest86 and there are no issues with the RAM.
I have sent the motherboard back for a replacement, if this does not solve the issue i am not sure what else could be problem?
