I followed steps to install the Amahi system on my desktop. Everything installed looks good. Then I reboot the server and used another client to log on to http://hda/. But found the page is not available. Here are a few thing I did during installation.
1. I installed my server via wireless. But the installation is intact.
2. I dsiabled DHCP.
3. Recennected HDA via hard wired. Assigned the ip address and gateway address indicated on amahi control panel
Then I tried the blank http://hda page is still there.

Install via wireless is unsupported. Something may not have installed correctly using that method. Recommend you install using hard wired connection.

You can check out the troubleshooting page for guidance.

If the wireless installation is wrong, how to reverse the installation or reinstall the system? Thanks.

Sorry, there is no reverse for installation. You have to start over. It's important you follow guidance from http://docs.amahi.org

If you have questions, we are more than happy to help.

Thanks for your lightening fast reply. My system is 32-bit. I can't go with this Express way. Right? Could you please post the 32-bit installation note link?
Also when you saying "Start over" you mean follow the process to go through again?

Yes the Express CD is only 64-bit, so you will have to either do full DVD or USB install.
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_7_full_DVD
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_19_USB_install

Starting over is like you never installed it before. As long as your HDA profile on amahi.org has the correct IP and Gateway address, you can use the same one. Otherwise, you would need to delete it and create a new one.

The USB install is not officially supported, but I have tested it many times with no issues. Depending on your hardware, full DVD might be your best option.

Regarding the HDA IP address should I need to designate a static ip address to my server first prior to start over? Because I see my Amahi control panel already has one set up.

No, it will automatically change on the server once Amahi is installed.

I started over following your advice. The progress is that control panel recognizes the status is becoming running. But http://hda still shows blank webpage. I did the interactive troubleshoot but turned out that "nslookup hda" cannot be read via macbook terminal for SSH connection. Warning is like this "-bash: nslookup: command not found".I've disabled DHCP on router but looks like some of my wifi-enabled devices are offline.

You will need to do the following as root user to get that package:

Code: Select all

yum install net-tools
Can you access the dashboard via IP address? If so, then your client is not getting it's DHCP and/or DNS from the HDA. May need to release/renew the DHCP lease on the client.
