Do I need to install Fedora before the Amahi live CD?

Hi. NOOB here. Sorry for many ignorant questions!
I tried to install Amahi on a Dell Dimension 9100 from the live CD download. I got all the way through to the reboot, but I could never connect the GUI from a web browser on my laptop (using wifi connection). The Amahi tutorial suggested i turn DHCP off on my wireless router. Did it, still couldn't connect to the GUI from my laptop.
Also, I could never see any GUI on the machine itself, just the "terminal-looking" interface after the reboot. Is that normal? Did my disk fail to install correctly? Or do I need to pre-install Fedora on the machine before running the Amahi disk?
Am I supposed to leave the live CD in after the reboot? I took it out and it rebooted automatically into Fedora, but not with any GUI.
Lastly, does it matter that I wire-connected the Amahi machine to the internet port on the back of one of my Sonos boxes? Do I have to connect the Amahi machine directly to my wireless router?
Any help would be appreciated.
