Ok. So did you verify that the pc you are using is getting the DHCP lease from the internet?

For Windows it's config /all from the command prompt.
I haven't no, but was this a required step somewhere that I missed?
BTW using Linux.

When you disable DHCP on your router, you have to refresh the IP address for your pc to get internet access from the internet.

OK, then let's say I do this again and refresh my IP for my devices.
I would have to do this for about 4 smart phones, 3 laptops, an xbox
and whatever else?

And what do I do after it?
If it refreshes correctly and I can access the internet,
would (should) I be able to access http://hda ?

Thanks for your help by the way. I'd love to get this working.

Yes. I would do just one and see if it works.

OK I'm going to try this now that my roommate is done using the net.

Be right back!

Well I just disabled the DHCP setting in the routers webpage, but interestingly enough I didn't drop internet this time.

I then rebooted the HDA.

But I still can't access http://hda, nor the HDA's IP address.

Did you refresh the pc DHCP lease? Also make sure the router is using the HDA for DNS server. Each router is different so might check your documentation.

Sorry, how would I refresh the DHCP lease? And on which PC?

And how would I make sure of these things with my router?

I gave you a link to the wiki that tells how to refresh the IP address. The pc you are using is the one to try first. For the router you will need to consult your user's manual.

Ah, see you said earlier "Refresh the DHCP lease" and here oyu say "refresh IP". I didn't know those were interchangeable.

But yes I've used this command and I still can't get to it.
