I have acquired a relatively new 64bit Intel i7 desktop from work. I want to replace my aging P4 Amahi server with this machine. My question is do I install Amahi (Amahi 7) on the new box with my original details, or do I use the "Start building a new HDA" from my control panel?

Re: New hardware
If you intend to use the same domain name, IP address, Gateway for the new hardware, then yes you can use the existing profile. Keep in mind you cannot be running your old box during or after install of the new one.
You could create a second HDA profile on your current account too, but I do believe you would need to change the IP Address as a minimum to prevent conflict.

Re: New hardware
Thanks Big. Install went well.
For some strange reason my router froze once I turned off the DHCP server and I had to set it to factory settings.
After installing all my apps and my second hard drive, the dashboard "disappeared". I found the workaround in Bug #1231.
So all is good now. Many thanks for a polished product, that is free!!
Now for the fun in setting up all the apps, like Sick Beard etc................Luckily I took a screen shot from the old box.
