SOLVED: Amahi 7 Install issues
I cannot seem to get Amahi 7 to install properly. Every time I try, I end up with nothing more than Fedora 19 installed. I can't even get X Window System or KDE to install. X Window System returns a version flag error, and KDE is not found. I have tried "yum update" which returned errors until I ran "dhclient" to reset the DHCP information. I am on my 5th install attempt currently, and twice I have received the error "unpack error with package perl". It's a fatal error. I solved it by deleting partitions and running the install again. However, Amahi still ends up a no go, and I still cannot install a GUI as instructed by the help docs. I am installing this over my old Amahi install, and would like to get the server up and running again to get my network back on its feet. Help?

Re: Amahi 7 Install issues
UPDATE
I now have Amahi installed and running. Still no go at getting the GUI installed. It can't resolve the hostname for f19.amahai.org, so I run dhclient. Then it tries pulling from a different mirror and returns the error of package not found. I at least have Amahi up and running, though. Any ideas how to fix the GUI install issues?

I am also having another issue. None of my apps work. Trying to click on them on the dashboard gives me a "webpage not available" error. So far, I am not thrilled about my decision to upgrade...
Re: Amahi 7 Install issues
Is this an Express CD install? Did you follow guidance at https://docs.amahi.org?

Re: Amahi 7 Install issues
Yes and yes.
You're going to have to ask for the details you need, as I don't know which ones you are looking for.
I used an express install dvd. Amahi is working, DHCP is disabled on my router, and Amahi is properly handling DHCP requests. However, none of my apps are working. As as I click on one, it goes to <appname>.cobaltphoenix.hda and gives a page not available error. I've rebooted everything, no luck. Cobaltphoenix.hda is the name I set during install, btw.

Ok, sounds like the DNS server is not working with your clients. Recommend you check out the network troubleshooter.

You can also check the HDA install log file. Not sure where it's located, but doing a search should find it.

Okay. Will try that after work. I do not know how to search for files in Linux CLI, though. Still learning Linux.

Re: Amahi 7 Install issues
Okay, trying to follow the network troubleshooter, and I run into a problem with "nslookup command not found". A quick Google search yields some help, but I somehow managed to accidentally bind my "n" key and I have no clue how to unbind it. ><
Re: Amahi 7 Install issues
Sounds like you might have a bad install. Recommend you reinstall.
A reboot might help but with all the problems you had initially, seems like it's still not right.
