Yes, using DVD with unetbootin does work to install Amahi. I am following the instructions here Amahi_7_full_DVD, however, for some reason the DNS server isn't working properly. I can ping individual ip addresses, but I can't ping using a url. I had this same problem last time I installed this way, and ended up going to chat to get resolution. I can't remember the resolution cpg gave me last time.

I have done a successful USB install of Amahi 7. I will update the wiki shortly.

Only problem I had was with DNS. I changed it to Google DNS in the Network -> Settings area of the Dashboard and all is well now.

This was accomplished using UNetbootin and Fedora 19 Live CD. It was relatively painless, but did take a bit of time. Might be because my machine is old.

If you follow this guide, you will be successful.

The only thing to watch is once Fedora 19 is installed, leave the USB flash drive in until the system reboots and you can log in to the GUI. Otherwise you may get errors booting.

I will try to consolidate the wiki guidance for this procedure later. For now, should work fine for 32- and 64-bit systems.

I've been trying to get the Amahi 7 install working with USB. I do get it installed, however if feels like something is missing. The static ip is never configured properly, and a lot of commands seem to be missing from the install (ifconfig, nslookup, etc). I'll give the full DVD install via USB a try tomorrow....again.

The method I mentioned uses the Live CD. It works pretty good from what I can see so far.

The commands you are not seeing are not installed with Amahi. In order to get ifconfig or the others, you install this free app:
https://www.amahi.org/apps/hda-troubleshooting-tools

It will install them for you. I would recommend you try the Live CD method first as it's a much smaller download. As I said, all appears to work fine and you get a desktop for your HDA as well.

If you prefer headless, then the full DVD is the way to go.

I have tried the full Live DVD install again. Amahi is up and running, but the static ip address is still not set to 192.168.1.10 as it should be. Amahi is still not resolving the dns like googe.com. I'm attaching my install log, sorry couldn't fpaste it, the dns is not resolving that either. Thanks.

I will take a look at the log and see if I can find the issue. In the mean time, I have found what appears to be a good USB install method.

It uses the Fedora 19 Live CD and UNetbootin. So far, tests on 32- and 64-bit have proven successful on my test box.

Obviously there are manual steps, but not too difficult in my opinion. If you are willing to try it out vs fixing the current install, please let me know.

Reviewed the log you posted and I don't see anything wrong. Maybe the new guidance I referred to in the previous post will be best for you.

UPDATE: I have also added some customizations that will allow you to disable the Fedora 19 GUI, resulting in a headless boot. Also steps to remove the boot splash screen which does not work correctly anyway.

Success!! Thanks bigfoot, the instructions worked well except for one step which I explain below. I was pretty much following the same instructions except I didn't install net-tools, I suspect this is why I couldn't get the static ip to set properly.

After I installed net-tools, i was able to ping google.com with no issue. However, after the hda-install step completed successfully and the reboot, I was not able to ping google.com. At that point I updated resolv.conf with the ip addresses in the instructions and restarted network.service. I finally got the email that the hda was successfully installed. Thanks a lot for all the help.
