I installed Amahi 7 in a new Fedora 19 install, and I sometimes experience long bouts of lag, even on the HDA itself. I opted to install gnome 3 on the HDA, and when the lag occurs, even stuff like moving the cursor is really slow and thus local administration is impossible. Also, when the lag starts, the machines on my network loses connection to the internet and don't get an IP address (unsurprisingly). This lag continues for a long time, too, but eventually stops and everything is fine until it starts again. I don't know for sure what triggers it, but it appears that accessing an app or the dashboard might be the cause.

I don't know where to begin to debug this problem. What logs do people think are relevant to post?

How did you install Amahi, Express CD or Full DVD? It's probably the Gnome 3 causing the issues, but until we know your install method it's hard to tell.

Yeah, it was a combination of two things. First, GNOME really was eating a lot of resources, so I now just boot at user level 3 so no GUI is used. Second, I had installed the Plex Media Server on my HDA. I store all my movies on a RAID, but the PMS keeps a temporary directory of transcoded movies in a directory that was not serviced by my RAID. So there was some kind of lock happening when I was watching movies, because Plex was trying to write a large amount of data at the same time that Amahi was trying to do something. Changing the temp directory that Plex uses to a directory on my RAID solved the issue.
