Ubuntu or Fedora?

I am currently running Amahi 6.1 and Fedora 14. It is about time for an upgrade, and according to the site, Amahi 6.3 is only supported for Ubuntu 12.04. So i went ahead and downloaded Ubuntu and started prepping my files (moving all my data files to a separate disk, etc). Thankfully, before I started down the road of a new install, I noticed that Amahi 7 is in the works, but it's slated for Fedora 18 support. Is there a particular reason for the distro flips between Amahi versions, and are they likely to continue?

I realize that distros and supported packages constantly change, but the need to flip distros to get the latest version of Amahi seems excessive.

Both will be supported. We intend to support Fedora 18 and Ubuntu 12.04.2 with Amahi 7.

It may be a while before Amahi 7 is stable for Fedora 18, but Ubuntu 12.04.2 is currently stable with 6.3.

Amahi 7 is a complete re-engineering of the platform and will support widgets and other customizable features. Best to go with Ubuntu 12.04.2 and Amahi 6, then when 7 is ready we hope it will seamlessly integrate.

Good question. At this point, not sure but I believe we are trying to make it transparent.

Amahi 7 is still several weeks out as well.
