Amahi Ubuntu no admin page after install

Ok,

I decided to redo my Amahi server (after a failed experiment w/ ESXi at home). I'm using Ubuntu Server 12.0.4.1 AMD64 and the install of Ubuntu goes smoothly. Get all my drives reinstalled and mounted. Update Ubuntu & reboot. I continue that until there are no updates. Download the Amahi installer script & run it. Punch in my install code & pw, install goes smoothly and I reboot. Then I try to access the admin page and I get the default page for Apache saying the server is running. Anyone have a clue what would cause this? I have reinstalled multiple times and I always get the same error. Is each install code only good for one install now (somehow?)?

Did you check the hda-install log for errors?

Also recommend you follow the guidance at http://docs.amahi.org. It states not to do any updates before the Amahi install as it's based on the default Ubuntu packages.

Not saying this is your problem, but could be why it's not working. The only tested and proven install follows those instructions. I would also recommend you not mount any additional drives until Amahi is installed. Then use the hda-diskmount script to add them.

To the best of my knowledge, the install code is not a one-time use. You should be able to use it again for the same machine/configuration.

I have to mount at least one disk before I run the script since it gets mounted as /var/hda/files :)

I'll try again tonight w/o running any updates. Shouldn't be an issue having 12.04.1 instead of 12.04 should it?

You don't have to mount the disk. You can use the OS disk, then when you mount the drives after Amahi install, point one to /var/hda/files in /etc/fstab. I used to do mine that way with no issues. The wiki guidance shows that as well for mounting disks as /var/hda/files.

As for 12.04 vs 12.04.1, should make no difference.

I just don't like having other directories sitting where I mount a drive to. Doesn't take me all that long to mount it (thankfully).

Understand. I was just didn't know if you knew it could be mounted after Amahi install.

Oh, I know it can. I just also prefer to be difficult.

Now if only Software RAID 1 creation in the Ubuntu Server installer worked right (can't install grub :( ).

Awesome. Sometimes ya have to follow the docs LOL It still works once updates are done, but the initial install needs the base distro, much like Fedora.

Now I just have to figure out why it didn't reboot when I tried to today. But I can't do that until I get home and connect to the Remote Access Card for my MicroServer.
