Personally, I don't think you will see substantial speed increase except for on boot. If you use the OS as a desktop clients, there will be some performance improvements as well.
One thing about linux is it needs to be tweaked for optimized SSD performance. You can find hints all over the internet. I see SSD as mostly beneficial for Windows clients in the small scale.
Nothing wrong with using a SSD, but don't expect a big difference in server performance. I used it with Ubuntu for a while and did not see a big difference from the standard hard drive.
