Installion Nightmare

I have just installed Fedora 14 with Amahi 6 or whatever and have to say its been a nightmare,
Besides Fedora 14 not able to install from USB drives, (I don't run a DVD), and the "Express install only running with lots of mods and playing around, I DID finally manage to get the system installed.
After a day and half and approximately 7 installs, it appeared to run. - for a little while.
I now get "Rails Application" errors often, and at times cannot log in due to Rails App failing to start properly?
When it actually runs it seems quite good, but unfortunately I'll probably need to do a complete reinstall again.

My query is:
Has anybody successfully installed from a USB stick / Drive.? Even the Fedora Live USB creator doesn't seem to support version 14 where it does list 10, 12, 15, and 16!
I kept getting missing files, and iso and images etc. I ended having to use the creator on the express install, make the mods to the install as described in the wiki, but also adding a direct copy of the iso as well on the USB stick. (IE ISO and extracted iso on thumb drive.) :?
It worked eventually.

Secondly - is it possible to use version 15 or pereferably 16 yet.? I believe Fedora 16 installs okay from USB.

I've noticed as well that some apps don't always work. If I reboot the HDA then they usually do?

Overall though it does seem to have a lot of potential, hopefully it is just my install.?!?

I'm sorry to say I've not installed Fedora from a USB stick.

I'm happy to say I also encountered, and overcame, failed installs due files missing from the fresh .iso I'd just downloaded and the Rails application errors.

My solution was to change the repository location from the CD which was giving me grief to Fedora's online ones. That took about 1/2 of trial and error along with some help from Fedora's IRC support. Once Fedora's installer could find everything, it was smooth sailing.

Thats similar to what I did on the last install was install from online sources. I also did a full update of all packages.
It seems to have helped with stability, but I'm still getting rails errors sometimes on the dashboard and various sections, but am unsure of what needs to be updated. I'm still a relative newbie to linux at this level.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having lots of problems. You can install Fedora 14 from USB but it is unsupported.

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_14_usb_install

I will say I have done it a few times with no issues. Ensure you follow the instructions exactly and it should work just fine.

The dramas continue.
Still getting "Rails application failed to start properly" whenever I try to access the dashboard after a couple of hours.
Reboot - work for a little while then stop.
Web server and everything seems to work fine, and Amahi control panel says its running? Can actually log on to my website fine! Just not the dashboard .

Some of the errors I get include but no limited to:
Bonobo activation was killed
Bad Page map in process nmbd 400000000000000
General Protection Fault
Process eu-unstrip -core ... killed by signal 11 SIDSEGV
Bad page process in YUM 167c3067

All very helpful linux errors.
Basically I think its dead!

I will dump and try yet again. 10th time lucky?

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for Fedora 14? Could there be something wrong with your install media?
