Hard to say. It is worth a shot. I may have to try this one day. Not sure how many use it either. Might be worth polling the community should we consider removing this feature one day from Amahi :D

No! I for one do not want it removed! I just want to figure out how to get it to work right. Being able to replace my Windows PDC was a big plus for me with amahi but I just need to figure this issue out.

Thanks,

John

I am not saying we will, was just making an observation. Typically features that are only used by a few are dropped over time. Does not mean you can't manually implement it.

I don't foresee it being dropped anytime soon. However if it quits working in future versions or requires additional development time, then it may be considered. We cannot dedicate resources to features that are only beneficial for a few.

Given we are a small all volunteer team, I hope you can understand my point.

So what is the advantage of using PDC? I was doing some research and it's not obvious to me.

for the average user none.

single sign on is the simplest answer but how that applies to an average home user escapes me.

i was looking at it to get around network browsing issues across subnets. if i can get a working DHCPd setup with WINS i think that will be easier.

the reasons pro, in my opinion, are few and better served with other solutions
