Fedora 14 stalls on first boot after install.

I'm having difficulty getting Fedora 14 to boot after installing exactly as described in this tutorial: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_14_install_guide

During the boot process, if I switch to verbose mode, I can see that the boot process is hanging on the step "Starting amahi-installer:"

There is an error message associated with this step of the boot process, "PHP Warning: date_default_timezone_get(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings..."

The system will just sit here without ever getting past this step. Since this happened on first boot, I have not gotten to the screen to setup a user account, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I am installing on an Intel Core 2 system, 2GB RAM, a single 300GB hard drive is the only drive connected for the install, and I partitioned the drive as suggested in the tutorial.

What media are you using for install? Best to use Fedora 14 Full DVD.

That's in fact exactly the media I'm using. Fedora 14 Full DVD - i386.

After getting no where with the above mentioned issue, I reinstalled Fedora without adding the Amahi repo during the install. That worked fine. Then, once I was booted into the Fedora desktop, I manually added the Amahi repo and tried installing according to this howto: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Self-install-existing

Everything seemed to be working fine until I got to the "yum install hda-suite" command. It downloaded all of the packages, but fails during Transaction Check with the following error:

Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/share/man/man5/dhcp-options.5.gz from install of dhcp-12:4.2.0-23.P2.fc14.i686 conflicts with file from package dhclient-12:4.2.0-6.fc14.i686

Seems I'm not having much luck today. I thought this alternate install method was going to fix my issue. Perhaps this problem has an easier solution than my original one.

Sounds like it could be a Fedora mirror problem or bad DVD burn. Did you check your install DVD to ensure the checksum was correct?
