The HDA gets the IP address you defined in your control panel at amahi.org (log in to see)
You also set the IP of your router in the control panel.
You then
have to disable DHCP on the router if you expect the 'smart' URLs (like
http://hda) to work from outside of your HDA. Filesharing and 'smart' URLs will not work if your router provides DHCP.

When I set the HDA box, I leave the setting as default, gateway as 192.168.1.1 and HDA as 192.168.1.10. I am still have problem ping the router. Here is what I did and observed:
1. I have my router and HDA box up and running.
2. from HDA, I can ping HDA box, yahoo.com but I can not ping any machines in local network including gateway(192.168.1.1)
3. I restart 1 of the laptop which is connected to wireless network, it seems to getting IP address from HDA?? When I type in ipconfig /all on laptop, it shows The IP address as 192.168.1.101,
DNS suffix search list...//home.com
DHCP Server.....192.168.1.100
DNS Server........192.168.1.10
It connected to router but can't not connect www.
4. from HDA box, i can get to my dashboard by typing
http://hda with no problem. From outside of my HDA I get the real HDA.com instead
5. I am really lost now and don't know what to do
