Install PCI Controller on my Amahi box running Fedora 14

Can someone let me know if this makes any sense? I recently purchased a Syba PCI Controller card that will allow me to connect Sata drives. The only problem is that the OS is not recognizing the hdd which is attached to the controller. I contacted Syba, and they sent me a link to some drivers. All of the instructions require me to download some kernel package and then perform some compiling. The only problem is that the link has drivers for fedora 6 and 7, but now fedora 14. Is this a big deal? Thanks.
