New Router

Hi Guys,

I got a new router and service and am wondering what I need to change to get my HDA up and running correctly again?
I had to turn on DHCP on the fedora to get a proper IP assigned to amahi as for some reason 192.168.1.10 seems to being used by something else, despite the fact I can't see it anywhere.

I'm presuming my IP has probablly changed also.

At the moment I can get to the dashboard using the DHCP assigned ip of the server, but the short links for the likes of transmission ect dont work.

Do I have to go through a re-install process to get the new router working correctly?

Cheers

Mik

Log into your router and turn off DHCP services. You want amahi to handle all dhcp and dns for your home network.

Oh I've done that, that was the first step!
But for some reason it wouldn't work, I think it's down to the IP address conflict but I just dont know.
Amahi sets a static IP for the server, so I had to delete all those settings from the network controller setup on the server to get it working.

I thought there would be a command I could run to reset stuff after installing the new router.

As far as I remember when I did the install my router was configured by amahi, If I got it to do that part again I think it should work....

Most stuff is running but through the ip address and not shortnames.
uTorrent opens fine but is not up/downloading so I thought that was a firewall issue. However I can use uTorrent on my Laptop fine so I'm not sure what's going on there either...

If your router DHCP is off, and your amahi is set with dedicated IP, try rebooting all your devices, (maybe do amhi first).
So all your other devices will get info network info from amahi.

If something is still conflicting with IP, then make sure all your devices are setup for DHCP.

I have tried that and it's not working....
When amahi/server restarts I get a boot error message about the conflicting IP
I dont know where the other ip address is coming from as amahi is the only thing on my network that should be setting it.

Hello,

I recommend you power down your network. Then start with turning on the modem first. Once its up and running, then turn on the router. Once that shows its working, turn on the HDA.

It is crucial that there all other devices remain off until the HDA is up. Then turn on a client and all should be working. I have had to do this in the past when things get confused in the network.

Gonna try that but not 100% confindent as my External IP address and router IP address has changed.

Hopefully it will figure itself out....

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 4 - DNS resolving for internal hostnames. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://pastebin.com/1qrw7sxK
