Install complete but cant connect to hda

Hi all,
I just finished installing Amahi with the Express CD and everything seemed to go fine. But now I can not access http://hda from my laptop and on the amahi box if I ping my router to test the internet connection I get Destination Host Unreachable. But I can ping 127.0.0.1 so I know the NIC is working. I have it on a wired lan using the built in nic on the motherboard. Is there some setting that I need to change?

127.0.0.1 is localhost (the same machine) so that doesn't prove you can contact your router.

Open a terminal and type 'ifconfig' and show us the output.

Have you checked the network cables (I've made that mistake more than once!)? Are the link lights on?
