Update Fedora 14 after install?

I just updated to the latest version of Amahi and Fedora 14 and noticed that the software update utility in the Administration menu has been removed.

A 'yum check-update' in a terminal shows that there are a large number of software updates that ought to be installed. Will updating my hda break things? Up until Fedora-12 end of life, I kept my previous system up to date with no apparent problems.

I feel nervous about security fixes that are not being applied to my system. Does Amahi push out updates to Fedora, or should I update myself?

As a follow-up to my own post, I ran into a critical bug while trying to get my LVM/Raid1 drives working on a fresh install.

I tried multiple times to set up a logical volume on top of a RAID1 array during the Fedora installation, and each time it would seem to work just fine. I would then copy my share data onto the drive and test it. Wonderful, I could see all of my data! But then I rebooted and my array did not come back! No data!

After quite a bit of testing and research, I stumbled onto a bug that has already been fixed: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653207.
I did a 'sudo yum update mdadm' and fixed it.

Had I done all the updates, I wouldn't have had this issue (although I don't know if something else would get broken).

Any thoughts?

Due to numerous complaints from users, the Fedora updates are shut off. It is noted somewhere in the instructions. That is why the update utility has been removed.

Most users do it via command line, use Webmin, or create a cron job to perform updates. I personally use Webmin and it installs them automatically for me. You can set it to do them automatically or wait for you to select specific updates to install.

Either way, the only auto updates you will receive is the Amahi software. Up to the user to decide if they want Fedora updates or not.

Is Webmin not essentially the same thing as Amahi both allow you to manage services and packages via a web interface i am not sure i can differentiate between them.
