I am a newbie to Amahi but want desperately to get rid of my WHS. I am trying to install from the New Express CD 6.1. IT will only install to a point and than I get this error message ”The file lvm2-2.02.84-2.fc14.i686.rmp cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file, a corrupt package or corrupt media. Please verify your installation source.
If you exit, your system will be left in a inconsistent state that will likely require reinstallation."
I have tried reburning the CD, redownloading the iso image all to no benefit. I really am at a loss here could some please suggest what my problem may be.
:( :(

Not sure what the problem could be. Have you tried the Full DVD for install? The express CD is still in alpha, so it could have bugs that prevent install on some systems.

The version of LVM2 that is included on the CD is lvm2-2.02.73-3.fc14.x86_64.rpm, so the file your having difficulty with is downloaded from the fedora-updates repo during the install. The express CD will pull newer stuff from the updates repo during the installation if available.

It's a recent change so it may be that your updates mirror wasn't synced when you attempted install or there may actually be an issue with the updated package.

I just did a yum update and it installed fine.

I got the proplem solved it seemed to be a faulty CD/DVD drive I changed out the drive and everything installed fine. I started having a problem also when I tried the full DVD version. It would boot off of the DVD. Changed out the drive and the Express CD installed fine now and it seems to be working.
I am able to access from Win 7, Vista, XP machines. One issue when I access the HDA there is a printer folder when I try to add a printer I get a message that I don't have sufficient rights.
Like I said I am a real newbie here, but all ready it seem much simpler that WHS

I had a similar problem recently, at least in my config the kernel seems to be very sensitive to CD/DVD drives. F14 doesn't recognize my usb DVD at all, so I use a IDE drive through a SATA converter for install. (No CD drive in my HDA). Once the kernel loads the installer stalls while drive errors are reported as the kernel notches back to a ATA mode that it feels stable at then proceeds at the lower data rate.

Debian/Ubuntu, FreeBSD and a WinPE disc install without a hiccup, but any F14 product I tried chokes.

Glad you have it working now.

If i typ in the path to other drives on other machines I acess them but cannot see them in explorer. It was work than just quit for some reason
