IP addresses in the Installation code creation...

All,

When I have created the installation code for the first time.. I left the local ip addresses to default as 192.168.1.*. However I now realized that my home ip is configured to have 192.168.0.*

So the question is how do I change this in the amahi.org configuration? If change is not possible then can I leave it and not bother about it.. what would be issue if I leave it as it is.. ?

PS: I dont want to create another one and delete the current because of the nickname that I have used.. which should be different for each installation i mean username.yourhda.com

cheers

Hi,

i had the same question regarding changing of subnet.

http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3027

I haven't tried it yet (will do so on the weekend).
Please tell me, if it works for you.

the amahi platform does not change the settings online automatically.

is that a desirable feature?

(they do not change often at all)

by the way, you can delete the existing profile and it will still use the same nickname.

CPG.. I don't know whether it is a desirable feature or not.. because does it matter if the ip range showing on the website is different to what the actual range is..

If it matters.. (how?).. then yes it is a desirable feature..

If not.. then why even have that in the website?

CPG.. if you only have one hda in your profile.. the delete option is not visible...

if it is not visible, it's because it's running.
profiles of running HDAs cannot be deleted.

could you recap what would be the feature request here?

basically you want to create a new profile for your *existing* hda, with different settings? then reinstall?

I am trying to capture your thought process so that we support it properly :-)

Hi CPG, The text for feature is as below:

"Option to edit currently running HDA settings on Amahi.org profile to update Local IP Address config".

Thanks

hi there all! Greece is calling :)

well yes I vote too, that this is a desirable feature, for example I was "playing" almost 2 months with the amahi-server , to get to know with it, and just because of testing network settings I had to delete old profile from website, and reinstall the whole package again with the new installation code , just beacause of eg "domain name change"
This could be easy for someone that had the server at home as a "workgroup" domain, and had to move the server somewhere else for eg "coffeshop" domain (with new IP addresses etc)
so yes please that would be great!

I run into this post, because now my server is running the way I wanted but did the delete-installation code after the fresh install. :(
if i could access my web-installed apps, I could use the phpMyadmin to manually change the installation code.
but now? how is this possible?

thanx for your time!
