I already have a computer running Fedora 14. However I note that it is not recommended that I install Amahi on this - especially as it is an up to date installation complete with all of the updates. What is the best way of proceeding with the installation of Amahi from this point?

You can try it, but I recommend a clean install following the instructions on the web site.
