amahi installer freezes when configuring eth0

i downloaded fedora 14 32bit and installed it. There was no step asking to add repos? I had to add it manually.

When i downloaded and installed the package it worked. However when i start the service install-amahi, go onto the local host, enter the quick install code it freezes.

It goes no further than 79% configuring eth0.

The eth0 is then disabled when i rebooted as it did not move for about 40mins.

I reinstalled fedora and did the same again. I got the same result, no install.

What am i doing wrong and how can i fix this?

Make sure if you have 2 network cards, i.e. add in and on board one that only one of them is enabled.

Secondly, might need to power down after that to ensure the only one detected is eth0. Try that and report back. BTW, there is a step in the install for DVD to add the repo....check the instructions on the web site.

We do not support any other install method other than DVD at the moment.

The only other card is a added wifi adapter. I installed fedora by USB is that why there was no repo step? There was no repo step.

Ok, well then that explains it. Sorry, we do not officially support USB installs. However, if you check out this wiki page, I believe the USB install method documented there will allow your install to proceed the same as a DVD install.

We do not support this either, but I have tested it and worked just like a DVD install for me. Recommend you start over and do a fresh install via DVD or using this USB method.

Does it matter if I use an older version the new one just froze and dosnt work on my xp for some reason. The old one I have does tho.

Ahh i have just realised what has happend. The disk I have got has got the live desktop version on it!

I need the install disk. Sorry for the inconvenience I just didn't realise as I went through fedoras website not amahi!
