Mmm I have a problem and I think I also know what the problem is..., me..

I update from f12 to f14 and all went well. I followed
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/F12_to_F14_update

But I did not read carefully enough I'm afraid.
At the special update kernel menu I selected the default options (questions about Ipv5 an IPv6 i guess?) and in the wiki, I later read, I should have chosen to install nothing.

Now the problem I get is the following: When in F14 I type:

Code: Select all

hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6
I get back:

Code: Select all

-bash: hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6: command not found
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks!

((And.. yes RTFM, probably that's the problem...)

I had the same problem.

Just did

Code: Select all

yum distro-sync
reboot

and then executed

Code: Select all

hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6

Hi Sandstroem, thanks for your reply. I tried the same now, but it did not work for me.

Code: Select all

yum distro-sync
Seamed to work normal.

After rebood tried again to start:

Code: Select all

hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6
But got the same return

Code: Select all

-bash: hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6: command not found

Could be some problems with bash.

Look in /usr/bin/ for hda-upgrade-amahi5-to-amahi6

If you have it you could try execute that from there, dunno if that's the right way to do it but it should be the same :-)

I decided to try a new install from the fedora 14 dvd and then reload the storage drives to the greyhole pool..

But the installation went really sllllloooooooooooowww. Coping the packages from the F14 DVD to the HDD took more then 4 hours, with the drive LED being on all the time. The DVD would only spin up every 5minutes.

When Fedora was installed and booted for the first time it reported that I had more than 250 bad clusters on my drive.. So I think that the problem might be that the hdd is just dead. Any Idears?
Time to buy a new HDD to be save or is there another solution?

Any tips for a good root hdd? This one I used now is a 2,5 inch laptop hdd. I choose it to save some trees, but maybe it is not made to serve torrents 24/7 ?

The install should not have taken that long. You might consider using the hard drive manufacturer utility to try and fix the errors. The drive might be salvageable, but if it were me I would replace it.
