I have been intending to have a home server for a while and have been experimenting with Windows Home server(WHS) in its RC version 2. In the past I have never done well with Linux in getting it to work with Windows networks. I was therefore amazed at the simple install instructions for Amahi and how well it worked.
After following the instructions I had a server ready to go and chatting happily to the various machines on my network. I am most impressed with this and very appreciative of the developers who have come up with this innovative package.
I'll post a bot more of how mt network goes once I have got more running.
Amazed byFedora 14 and Amahi 6
Re: Amazed byFedora 14 and Amahi 6
I can recall being similarly amazed and impressed by the Amahi 5 in combo with Fedora 12. The current combination with its as yet to be delivered set of apps has left me a little disappointed .... Which is a real shame, I think.
Crash plan and DLNA, for me, move this product from a "me too" storage network management combo to something properly useful......and amazing
Amahi guys - please can you give us a headsup on when the useful apps will come and if help is needed what help and what skill levels/knowledge.
Thanks
Mal
