Question when installing Amahi. Do I have to use a .com domain as the example home.com? If not, can I just use something like home.hda or home.amahi instead so I don't have a clash with the internet domain? Or is there something strict about the .com portion?
Thanks!
do I have to use a .com domain?
Re: do I have to use a .com domain?
You can use pretty much anything you want. Obviously you need to follow domain naming rules. Check out the wiki, I believe there is some guidance there.

Re: do I have to use a .com domain?
Actually that's not entirely true, I own various real TLD domains but when I try to use them I am told that the names are invalid, why? because they have a - in the name (for example my-homelab.com).
Why does it have these limitations?
Also one question I would have, from a domain naming perspective why can't I have it set to anything I actually want ?(for example my internal AD name at home (yes I am a sad Windows Server engineer who also uses various MS and VMware technologies in a home lab environment)) For example a domain name ending in .local or .lab? It's fine from a Windows DNS perspective and as I am using a Windows DNS server internally I would have liked to have had my Amahi install using the same domain name.
