Newbie Installation Questions

Hello everyone. I'm installing Amahi and have some issues as well as questions:
1. Installing Fedora-12-x86_64-DVD.iso on a AMD Athlon X2 3200+ The install seems to go fine until it's time to reboot. When I reboot from the local HD, it says to press a key to reboot. If I reboot from the CD/DVD it wants to go through the installation process. So I don't know what to do. Am I even using the right distro?

I have a question regarding DHCP. I understand the ideal setup is to disable DHCP on my router end and let Amahi handle that for me:

2. I am using DD-WRT. If I disable DHCP on the DD-WRT, will all the other features work? (e.g. custom DNS, firewall)
3. Currently all my devices are assigned a static IP from DD-WRT. Will I be able to assign a static IP to my devices in Amahi's DHCP?

Thanks-

For #1, it sounds like you still had the DVD in the drive. When you reboot, remove the disk first.

I tried... that's when it asks to press a key to reboot and goes into a loop

Ok I played with the BIOS settings and now it works! Once problem solved.

Anyone can share their knowledge on my other questions?
Thanks

You can assign static IP addresses from the Networking tab of the dashboard. The other features of your router should still work correctly, unless you are using the router as a DNS server. You might want to check out:
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Networ ... Static_IPs
and
https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Changi ... S_provider if you want to use Amahi with a custom DNS.

Perfect, thanks for the references. I never had to disable dhcp; I see there's a number of options to disable dhcp on ddwrt, anyone knows which is the most appropriate?
Also, my router already has open dns addresses. Do I just leave that as is?

Oh one more question, what is the process to add HD as I go along?

For dd-wrt, you will want to choose "DHCP Forwarder" and type in your server's IP address from the basic setup page on the setup tab. As for adding a second HD, http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... o_your_HDA.

You can find a ton of information in the wiki for setting up apps/ advanced configuration.
