Ok I have succesfully added 2 more disk but am having problems with a third. They are all exactly the same make/model (samsung HDJ103SJ 1TB).
I can successfully partition it, format it and mount it while at the desktop (fedora 12) using hda-diskmount. Then I added the uuid and command given by hda-diskmount to fstab and tried mounting using mount -a that worked fine.
So on to the problem... when I reboot the loader crashes out with an error as below.
Starting udev: init: hdapsd main process (760) terminated with status 25
init: hdapsd main process (761) terminated with status 255

The only way out of this is to reboot via live cd / usb etc and comment out the line in the fstab file.
I have tried partitioning and formatting 3 times and still get nowwhere other than the UUID changing each time and the dive number incrementing.
Now at a loss as to whats happneing.
These three disk used to be part part of aan LVM raid array on Ubuntu if that relevant but I have cleared down the superblock on the offending disk but still no joy.
Problems adding extra disks.
